Cables seize with water ingress and with disuse, and the first symptom is usually a lever that pulls further than it used to.
Cable listings state the length and whether the cable covers the front, intermediate or rear section of the run, because most vehicles use two or three separate cables rather than one continuous one.
Electric parking brakes use a motor on the caliper rather than a cable. Those actuators and their control modules are listed separately, and replacing one usually requires a scan tool to retract and relearn the brake.
If the lever holds but the vehicle still rolls, check the shoe adjustment and the cable equaliser before assuming the cable has stretched.
