Brake Rotors

Brake rotors are sold as single units and as axle pairs, and the difference matters: a pair listing covers both sides of one axle, a single listing covers one wheel.

Buying guide: Brake Rotors

Read the title before comparing prices.

Rotor dimensions are the other thing that trips people up. Diameter, thickness and overall height all have to match, and vented and solid rotors are not interchangeable even when the diameter is the same. Listings state the dimensions where the supplier provides them.

Coated rotors have a zinc or geomet coating that stops flash rust while the vehicle sits; uncoated rotors rust on the hat within days. Both work, but the coating changes the appearance and, slightly, the price.

Drilled and slotted rotors are listed separately from plain rotors. They look different and cool differently, and on some applications they are noisier than the original design.
